CHRISTIAN MISSIONS
Christian missions, global outreach, and cross-cultural ministries is God’s mandate for His people and His Church. The risen Christ commissioned His disciples saying:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age”
(Matt. 28:19-20).
In a wonderful promise to empower his disciples for the task that he commissioned them with, Jesus said:
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”
(Acts 1:8)
God is still at work through His people today and the mission continues. Through evangelism, church planting, teaching, training, and discipleship endeavors of missionaries today, God is fulfilling His promise. The church is the light of the world (Matt. 5:14, Phil. 4:15-16). God seeks people from “every tribe and language” (Rev. 5:9-10). As each of us play our part toward making disciples of all nations, and as we reach out to the unreached people groups of the world, we obey his commandment to us and we hasten his glorious return. On that day, the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14).
THE 10/40 WINDOW
Most (97%) of the world’s unreached people are located geographically in what some scholars call The 10/40 Window from West Africa across Asia between 10 degrees latitude north of the equator to 40 degrees north.
Total Population in 10/40: 4.89 billion people
Total People Groups in 10/40: 8,213 people groups
Total Unreached People Groups in 10/40: 5,626 Unreached People Groups totaling 3.05 billion people. 40% of all individuals
60% of unreached people groups live in countries closed to missionaries from North America.
Over 1,000 unreached people groups are NOT in the 10/40 Window, these total over 80 million individuals.

There is much to do, with the field so vast and more so in the light of the present time persecution and anti-Christian political agendas around the world.
